The 18th Annual Filipino Fiesta celebrated last Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Kapiolani Park, Waikiki was again a huge success. The theme of this year's fiesta was "Lakbay Kultura" (A Cultural Journey) which focused on the distinctive cultural aspects of the Philippines. It featured a historical-cultural parade from Fort DeRussy to Kapiolani Park in the morning, which showcased marching bands, colorful floats, cultural groups, street dancers, and various business and community organizations. Also included in the parade was the Flores de Mayo featuring Filipina beauties. After the parade was an all-day Fiesta at the Kapiolani Park with local entertainers showing their different talents, cultural village showcasing the various regions of the Philippines, food booths, a keiki village, and business and non-profit booths.
