The Consuelo Courtyard

Designed by Wimberly Allison Tong and Goo, the Consuelo Courtyard serves as the open-air gathering place for the community. The courtyard has been dedicated to the Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation for their generous donation $0.5 million dollars which served as part of the catalyst to the project. The foundation is named after philanthropist Consuelo Zobel Alger who dedicated her time and resources in helping women and Children in Hawaii and in the Philppines.

The courtyard compliments the overall Spanish-motif of the center. Palm trees aligned along the courtyard's rim provide a hint of tropicana, proper for Hawaii. Upon entering the courtyard, one's attention is immediately drawn to the elegantly designed fountain located at the front rim. The flowing water provides a pleasant sound to one's ears while they relax using stylish furniture including several round umbrella tables and cushioned chairs.
